The book was published in 1965 by the Howell Book House, Inc. The 191 page volume covers the origin and early history of the breed in Belgium, the Schipperke in the United States, the Schipperke Hall of Fame, the U.S. standard for Schipperkes, the Schipperke ideal and character, Schipperkes in obedience, as well as feeding and general care. There are photos and pedigrees of dogs from well known kennels such as Kelso, Rose Glen, Walrose, Jet-O, Clello, and Del-Dorel, including Best in Show winner Ch. Del-Dorel's Stardom.
