THE ROLLING STONES 1969 American Tour Reproduction Ticket Outlet Poster with Dates Shown
This is a high quality lithograph reproduction of the concert poster posted at the ticket outlets for the Rolling Stones 1969 American Tour. The tour began on November 7 with a try-out show at Colorado State University, and then proceeded generally west to east, often playing two shows a night. The tour's second stop, at The Forum in Los Angeles, attracted national media attention as the outing's formal opening. The shows on November 27 and 28 at New York City's Madison Square Garden were deemed the major rock event of the year. The final show of the tour as initially planned was on November 28 in New York City, but November 30 in West Palm Beach, Florida was added as a gesture to the organizer. The band also organized and headlined the free concert at Altamont on December 6, which was tacked on at the end of the tour as a response to the high ticket prices of the tour itself. Sam Cutler, the road manager for the tour, introduced the Rolling Stones as "The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World", a fitting title he had first bestowed upon them at their concert in London's Hyde Park the previous July. the Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, and in 2004 they were ranked #4 in Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. This is a beautiful reproduction of the poster for this historic tour on heavy stock measuring approx. 13 x 19" and in mint condition. FREE handbills included!
