Description
For BIN, a lovely pair of antique baby shoes from late Victorian or earlier Edwardian period. They are black leather with ankle straps and a metal button closure in the center of the straps so closes in the front of the ankle. The shoes are in very good condition. They look only lightly worn. There are a few scuffs on the leather in front of the toe area. All stitches are closed tightly. The leather is firm, no pushed down areas. There are bows on the top of the toes and the button is a black metal circular one with a silver metal center. The soles have no damage. The inside of the shoes are part leather and part cloth. No damage to the inside of either shoe. The inside of the shoes have a blue stamp, looks to read 53. 628 and underneath a 1. Not sure, some rubs tot he stamp.See pics and ask questions if you need too. Would be perfect for a French or German little girl bisque head antique doll around 28 inches tall. Measurements are as follows: 5.5" from heel to toe. 21/4" across the ball of the foot, 13/4" across the toes, 1" across the heel at the very back, 1.5" across the heel at the center. Each strap is the shoe is 1 3/4" from the center seam in the back of the shoe to the button opening. 3 1/4" from the sole at the heel from the side to the top side edge of the shoe.
