1998 Land Rover Defender This Defender 90 is one of only a few hundred units fitted from the factory with a BMW 2.8L gasoline straight six, all exclusively for the South African market. These are unique and seriously unusual, this may be the only unit currently in the United States. As much as I like the TDI diesel motor, it can’t hold a candle to the driving experience in this. Most Euro import Defenders are rusty junk, the dry climate in South Africa has been kind to this 90 and it is totally rust free. We import these vehicles to be refurbished but this one is quite presentable and does not need it to be an awesome driver. Certainly, a buyer could take this on and add his own touches if desired. Like most units from SA, this is fitted with factory air conditioning. A local viewing is welcome and encouraged with appointment. We are happy to assist with shipping and logistics.
