    Description

1981 Land Rover Series III. This is a fairly rare original Stage 1 Landie ( NOT a knock-down kit or a Santana copy), transitional model between the 109 and the 110 with the V8 running gear of the Range Rover and Defender front-end and hood.
I am the second US owner since importation to AZ in 2009. Titled as a 1980 even though it was a 1981 model. 130k current original miles ( odometer was replaced with a MPH instrument by Sun City Automotive of AZ in 2010).
The Land Rover's VIN is: SALLBCAV1AA132954
Desirable ORIGINAL factory-stock 3.5L V8 Range Rover motor with stock carburetor, not the troublesome 2.6 6 cylinder nor the anemic 2.2 4 banger. Runs well. And rides like a truck, like all Series and Defenders do. Anyone that has spent any amount of time in Africa, the middle east or Latin America can attest to that (self included).
This Stage 1 also has the bulletproof factory Range Rover L77 4-speed manual transmission with heavy duty clutch, completely serviced in 2015. Recently replaced clutch master. Super heavy duty leaf springs and Salisbury rearend/axles.
I had been slowly fixing it up as time in between deployments permitted. I am due to deploy once again, and it keeps getting put on the backburner. Between the mobilization and a projected new addition to the family, seems unlikely that I will get it where I want it, thus I have decided to sell it.
I have had a significant amount of work done thus far, including a SACHS clutch back in 2015, brakes, carburetor rebuild, a new battery, clutch slave, new fuel tank, new fuel pump, drums, refinish of the roof, wheels, new tires, cap & rotor, spark plugs, etc.
I also have a set of new BILSTEINs in the box, a set of DEFENDER 16" alloy wheels with factory lug nuts, a new rear ladder ( already mounted) and some other bits that are also included.
This Stage 1 is ROCK SOLID across the board: chassis, bulkhead, crossmember,  all floorboards, cargo area, wheelwells, etc. Inside of bottom of drivers door is has corrosion from trapped mud and rain water ( from previous obvious use  as a UK utility  company vehicle,  and the driver's side was used regularly) yet the passenger side has nothing, nor does the rest of the vehicle. I would say it is 95% RUST FREE.
Drive it as is, or great base for an easy restoration.
I am a MOTIVATED seller, willing to listen to a serious offer. I have made the decision to sell it based on my impending deployment, not financial need.
I am looking for a serious, interested buyer that will finish up this rare Stage 1 and make it 100%.
In the event that no serious offers or a serious potential buyer presents himself, it will go off the market into long-term storage and I will finish it up upon my return and just enjoy it.
This Land Rover has a clear AZ title. Stage-1 V8 Land Rover Series III are rare in the US and hard to find; reportedly there are less than 50 in the US.
And they keep going up in value beyond anything imaginable!
I will be glad to assist a potential buyer transport it anywhere nationwide or overseas, and make shipping arrangements, at the most economical shipping rate available.
Payment can be made via bank wire transfer. It provides certification of payment for both the buyer and seller.
Upon receipt of payment, the title will be mailed via USPS Priority with tracking/delivery confirmation.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or inquiries. I am reachable 0800-2200 PST either through my phone ( 650) 430-4660 or via Email or WhatsApp.
    Thank you for your interest.
